
Ateneo Marketing Varsity
AMV is the Ateneo de Manila University's Marketing and Communications Competition Team. Varsity members are the official representatives of the school to national and global marketing competitions like IMMAP, PANA, and company-sponsored Marketing Case Competitions. The team is open to all undergraduate students of Ateneo de Manila University in at least their sophomore year.

AMV seeks to equip Ateneans with industry-level marketing knowledge and skills through training from alumni Marketeers and coaches from the Marketing and Law Department. This will be done through training workshops, supplementary modules, and participation in various competitions.

How to apply?
AMV 65-hour Marketing Case Competition Tryouts
[1] Submit your application via the submission link below.
[2] Fill out the application form by June 26, 11:59 PM.
[3] If accepted, you will be invited to the AMV Tryouts FB Group and will receive the case via e-mail on June 28, 7:00AM.
[4] Create a 5-minute video pitch about the Case Study. Submit it by July 1, 12:00 AM to the Video Submission form.
[5] Top performing applicants will undergo an in-person interview from July 4 to 5.

1. Who can apply to Ateneo Marketing Varsity?
Enrolled undergraduate students of the Ateneo de Manila University in at least their sophomore year are allowed to apply to the varsity team.2. Can students outside of JGSOM apply? Have there been past members from outside of SOM?
Yes. Other degree programs that past members have been students of include AB Communication, BFA Information Design, AB Economics, and more. Your degree program or school has no bearing on your application.3. What are some of the case competitions that the team has competed in?
The team is formerly known as the ADMU PANA Team, as the team served as the university’s representatives to the Philippine Association of National Advertisers (PANA) Brand Communications competition, a nationwide competition covering social issue and advocacy campaigns, brand marketing, and B2B strategy over the last few years.This year, the team was able to clinch 1st Runner up in PANA 2023, a grand finals finish at Unilever UFLL Case Competition 2024, and National Champions for L'Oreal Brandstorm 2024.4. Will I need to have credibility like resume and CV backings? What kind of experience are you looking for?
Not necessarily. You are expected to draw your answers from previous experiences—be it work in student organizations, academic projects, internships, volunteer work, etc. These do not necessarily have to be marketing related, as long as these experiences can show your best skills, work ethic, and what you can bring to the team.5. How much marketing/communications knowledge is needed?
It is not required to be experts or have a minor in Marketing because team members will be trained further on different topics. However, some knowledge on marketing & strategy is needed to fulfill the video pitch requirement of the application process.6. What level of commitment is required of the team members? What are the schedules like?
Mid July until October will be this year's preparation season, where members will get once-a-month workshops on Marketing topics. When a competition is lined up, expect more hours of work, which will depend on the output and difficulty of the case.There is no set timeline for the competitions the team will join, nor a schedule of when the workload will be heaviest; as such, consider this a yearlong commitment. AMV's first competition where all members participate will be in late August.7. Is there a specific role that the team is currently looking for?
There is no one specific role. However, in terms of skills, you are expected to be skilled or show strong potential in at least one of (but not limited to) the following areas: Strategy, Research, Business writing, Copywriting (advertising copy), Execution ideation, Creative communications.8. How many members are there in the team? What type of work environment does the team have
We are expecting a pool of 15 members. The team is expected to be highly driven and critical, open to learning, and competitive externally but supportive internally.9. How are team members deployed to competitions?
Members are selected depending on the case provider's team size and requirements (ex. graduating students only, etc). Before deployment, the member's interests, skills, and availability are also considered.10. What kind of case competitions have you joined?
AMV usually joins 'Big Idea' competitions on circular economy, public education, e-commerce, FMCG, restaurants, and pharamaceuticals.
